Education & Training

Education and Training

The practice has a long history of commitment to training. We are one of the practices involved in the Bradford Vocational Scheme and GP REGISTRARS join us for six month attachments. They are fully qualified doctors and are specialising in general practice under the guidance of Dr Urwin and Dr Petty.

The practice is also involved in undergraduate training and we have medical students under the care of Dr Eldridge and Dr Passant.

The practice has been involved in the training of nurse practitioners and has been recognised as a Teaching Centre.

Dr Bibby is involved in co-ordinating the continuing education of Bradford general practitioners.

Student nurses are regularly attached to our nursing/health visitor teams.

Due to the training commitments involved in teaching, certain doctors may not be available all of the time; the practice has, however, taken on board other doctors to ensure that standards of service are maintained.

GP Appraisal.

All doctors in the practice take part in the national and annual appraisal scheme. This is mandatory and overseen by the Primary Care Trust.

Training Tomorrow's General Practitioners

We believe the training of the future doctors is crucial to ensure the continued quality of General Practice. To contribute to this we undertake the training of GP Registrars and medical students.

GP Registrar

There is always a GP registrar on attachment. A GP registrar is a qualified doctor who will go on to specialise in general practice.

Medical Students

There are often 4th and 5th year medical students in attendance. You can choose not to have them present if you wish.
