Asthma

A clinic is held by the practice nurse for advice, monitoring and controlling asthma. Please make an appointment

 

Care Of The Older Person

Roz Wolverson is the nurse practitioner specialising in the care of the older person.

 

Diabetics

A clinic is held for those patients who are on treatment with diet or tablets for their diabetes. You will be seen six or twelve monthly in the practice clinic by our appropriately qualified practice nurse.

 

Diabetic Satellite Clinic

 

This is a clinic for diabetics who are being considered for, or are being treated with, insulin.  this is run by Dr Urwin and Sister Harris in conjunction with members of the hospital diabetes team.

 

Healthy Eating

Make an appointment to see our practice nurse who will be happy to offer advice and encouragement.

 

Health Trainer

A personal one-to-one trainer is available to patients wishing to make a lifestyle change to improve health and well being. For example, reducing stress, getting fit, making friends, losing weight or stopping smoking. Patients can make an appointment to see the health trainer by ringing 01274 223926

Influenza

We hold clinics from October onwards to vaccinate those at risk (the over 65s, asthmatics, those with chronic chest disease etc) against fly. No appointment is necessary to attend the flu clinics. Details of clinic dates can be obtained from reception.

 

Minor Surgery

Minor operations can be carried out in our well equipped Operating Suite by Dr Passant and Dr Chadwick. Please discuss this with your doctor before making an appointment.

 

Osteoporosis Prevention

For those ladies approaching the menopause, please make an appointment to see the practice nurse.

 

Travel Clinic

We offer a comprehensive travel service to all those travelling abroad for either business or pleasure. We are a REGISTERED YELLOW FEVER CENTRE and can provide a wide range of immunisations from the more frequently encountered Typhoid and Hepatitis to Rabies and Japanese B encephalitis. We use a computer programme (regularly updated) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and are thus able to provide printed up-to-date travel information for the destination of you choice. This service is available at short notice and can be provided to all members of the general public. A fee may be charged.
