The Emerald Suite runs specialist services, some of which are hospital services that are run in the community rather than at hospital.  Access to these services is via the GP.
Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.
New Patients
If you wish to register with us please telephone or call in and make an appointment to see the practice nurse for a new patient interview.  You will be asked to complete a registration form and you will need to bring 2 forms of identification e.g. passport and recent utility bill.

Community Midwives

Patients can contact the midwifery office based at Ashcroft Surgery - Monday to Friday on telephone number 01274 461310. In addition to this there is a 24 hour helpline number 01274 364533 which allows patients to speak to a midwife day or night.

Antenatal clinics are held on Tuesday morning at Cliffe Avenue and Wednesday morning at Windhill Green. There is also an antenatal/postnatal "drop-in" clinic on a Monday afternoon 1.30 - 3.30 pm at Windhill Green and also at Eccleshill Health Centre on Thursday mornings 9.30am - 12.30pm.

Community Nurses

The district nursing team provide holistic nursing care to people in their own homes, such as the frail elderly and the terminally ill. They also run clinics at Windhill and Cliffe Avenue for specialist wound care, injections, ear care, self-help and Doppler studies. They can access specialist equipment and refer people to other agencies to enable effective care. They can also provide advice and resources for patients and families regarding continence, medication, self-care, managing chronic or life-threatening illnesses, nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

The district nurses can be contacted Monday to Friday on 584510 between 8.15 - 9.30am or 2.30 - 3.30pm. Urgent messages outside these times can be left at reception.

Health Visitors

Health Visitors are experienced and qualified registered nurses or midwives who work to promote good health and prevent illness in the community. They spend most of their day visiting people in their homes, especially new mothers and children under five. The also work with other sections of the community including the elderly, disabled and long term sick, offering practical support and advice to help people overcome their disabilities.

Health visitors work in collaboration with other agencies such as Social Services and local housing departments.

Health visitors are available for patients to contact direct Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 10.00am. At other times an answer machine is available and messages are picked up and responded to on the same day. The telephone number is 01274 594991.
